RDLN Network members and guests at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum in Greenboro
with Joe O'Neil, far right, one of the Freedom Four who sat in at the Woolworth lunch counter in 1960

RLDN held its 2013 National Network Assembly in North Carolina took place fifty years after many historic Civil Rights struggles, and our theme was "50 Years Later - We still have Dreams!!"
We stayed at the Caraway Camp and Conference Center in Sophia, near Asheboro, providing a forum for representatives of thirteen states and five tribes for vital exchange about rural issues and challenges.

The Assembly was hosted by four North Carolina RDLN Leaders:

Martha Beatty, Community Advocates Outreach, Raeford

Evelyn Conley, Indigenous Education Institute, Sylva

Theresa Isley, Family Violence & Rape Crisis Services, Siler City

Shirley McClain, Rural Development Leadership Network, Holly Springs
